Sorry for not posting the last Wednesday's event I was busy but this Wednesday we are having a cook-off. Bring your favorite and best made dish to church on Wednesday. We will have a secret ballot and will have secret prizes. We will also have food art. So bring your food and be prepared to have fun.see you at 4

Wednesday the 8th we the youth are having a ice skating party over at the parks. arive at church at 2:30 and we will take you over to the ice rink and have you back by 5:00. bring 10:00 wwith you. SE YOU THEN!!!:)

Wednesday youth is on Tuesday (July24Th) next week.

Yes, we had sign up day for all the youth last Sunday. but, GOOD NEWS...you are not too late. Get your forms, fill them out, turn them in to Adam or the office. DO THIS BY APRIL 9TH. We must turn in the forms and write the check on the 10th.

2007 CYF MISSION TRIP - ALL THE DETAILS

WHEN: JULY 9th. - JULY 14th.
We will leave out early Monday morning, arrive early evening.

WHERE: GOD'S KATRINA KITCHEN, GULFPORT, MS.

See the website for God's Katrina Kitchen. This is a interfaith relief center that provides ongoing
relief for those still recovering from hurricanes KATRINA AND RITA.

This is a wonderful effort, the website shows it all. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE.

We will have the opportunity to do real work for people affected by these disasters. Check the section on projects to see who and what they accomplish.

We will be staying in bunkhouse, or dormitories at the relief center. Complete with full kitchen ( we will assist with meal preparation ). Plenty of showers, air conditioned. Males and females segregated.

Worship / Praise services each night. Lots of music, electric keyboard, drums. They have requested we bring all of our musicians. We may provide the speaker for one or more nights. Optional attendance at services. This is like the banner on the website says, MANY CHURCHES, ONE GOD. On the phone they mentioned Amish from Pennsylvania, Disciples, Methodists, even some lost Baptists.

Currently, we have committments from 16 area Disciple churches to send CYF on this mission trip. The estimate is about 100 people. These are the CYFer's you meet at conference and the other retreats.

We will leave Gulfport, MS. early Saturday morning, and arrive in Arlington early evening.

On the travel days, we will stop every 2 hours for a break, and have lunch somewhere on the road.

COST: $150.00 PER PERSON. This covers travel expense, 3 meals a day, recreational cost, one "dinner out".

Recreational cost is for the outside fun activities that we are planning.

We suggest you bring $100.00 for incidental expenses. This includes your lunch on the two travel days, personal snacks, souvenirs, etc.

Mark your calendars now. We will not require any funds until close to the trip.

GRADUATION LUNCHEON, APRIL 22nd

We will be honoring our high school seniors with a Graduation Luncheon. This luncheon is for the seniors, their families, and clergy. Sunday, April 22, at 12:00, in Blackwood Hall. The youth department will host and serve at this function.

Seniors, please make plans to attend. We will be contacting you personally in the near future.

HELP WANTED - CHI RHO MISSION TRIP

We have two positions open for the upcoming CHI RHO Mission Trip.

Two adult female sponsors.

One male sponsor.

Someone with carpentry, landscaping, or sprinkler system experience helpful, but not necessary.

NO EXPERIENCE WITH YOUNG PEOPLE NECESSARY. WE OFFER ON THE JOB TRAINING.

SALARY: $0.00 per hour. Christmas bonus: Big Fat ZERO.

EXCELLENT BENEFIT PACKAGE: All week interacting with the youth ! !

CHI - RHO MISSION TRIP IS FINALIZED ! ! ! !

WOW ! ! ! A super mission trip that will offer good work, fellowship, and lots of fun thrown in. Mark your calendars, June 4 - 9th, 2007.

CHI RHO will be on the "creative" side of the Camp in Athens, Texas with about 100 other youth from other area TBA churches.

The work projects will include: Install sprinkler system....build benches for outdoor worship area...work in the food pantry in Athens.....creats new hiking trails.....

FUN STUFF ? ? ? ?

Oh yeah, at least 4, yes four, probably MORE than 4 things. But guess what, we are keeping them secret for now. And do you know why ? ? Because they will be so much fun YOU WOULD GO CRAZY WAITING TO GO TO CAMP. We do not want to have to explain to your parents why we made you go crazy. Do not miss out, plan to attend the CHI RO mission trip.

THE COST OF THE TRIP IS SET: $75.00 per attendee. The remainder of the cost is picked up by youth department.

The only other funds necessary would be a small amount for soft drinks, incidentals.

Make your plans now. We will not need firm committments or funds until sometime in early May. Mission scholarships will be available, see Adam for details.

SUMMER CAMPS...ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

All the forms will be at the sign up table, in Digby Center, Sunday, March 25th. If you cannot be there, pick up the forms at church between now and April 8th. WE MUST HAVE THEM IN AND COMPLETED BY APRIL 8TH. Please turn in your 1/2 camp fee by APRIL 8TH.

We qualify for the EARLY BIRD PRICING by getting everything turned in by the deadline date. Also, you receive 1/2 OFF THE CAMP PRICING, by turning in your paperwork and your 1/2 fee by the deadline date of April 8th.

2007 Youth Camp Schedule

Here they are, the camps for this summer. We will have a sign up day, March 25th, in Digby Center.

WE WILL ALSO HAVE DRIVER SIGN UP FORMS FOR THE DIFFERENT CAMPS.

Paperwork must be in to TBA office by April 10th for the early bird pricing. 1/2 of the camp cost will be picked up by the youth department, but only if the paperwork and the 1/2 camp cost are turned in on time.
